8 militants killed in Uri sector

The Army on Tuesday killed 10 of the 15 terrorists trying to cross over to the Indian side from Pakistan at Lachipura area of Uri sector in Jammu-Kashmir.

NIA REGISTERS CASE National Investigation Agency registered a case to probe the terror attack at the Army installation in Uri in J&K on Sunday. The sources said that there could be four to five militants and the gunfight is still underway. Because of the incident, the runway has been damaged and as result all flight operations were stopped at the airport. As per the last report from officials, operations were in progress late in the evening too.

BJP Madhya Pradesh president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan in a statement here on Tuesday said, “The cowardly activities of the Pakistan sponsored terrorists have broken Indian’s patience limits. The prime minister and Secretary Kerry also stressed the need for restraint in nuclear weapons programmes”, he said. Even Russia made a qualified mention of the Islamic country, stating: “We are also concerned about the fact that, according to New Delhi, the army base near Uri was attacked from Pakistani territory”.
