Washington is still seeking the right mix of players for the job, though coach Jay Gruden said he believes it’s a fixable problem. There is definitely a difference in performance from the Cousins we saw a year ago and the Cousins we have seen thru two weeks in 2016. The Redskins were a playoff team previous year, and Cousins is playing for a big contract. They have just a 5 percent chance at finishing the regular season with a winning record. “But it doesn’t take an expert to see he has a lot of skills out there and he’s going to continue to get better”. He can be very effective throwing the ball from the pocket, in the dropback game, in the shotgun game, the play-action, run-action game and then the movement game.
Dez Bryant provided an anchor role for Prescott to rely on, rounding out the dynamic trio with an outstanding game; racking up 102 yards on 7 catches.
They mostly won the division by closing out the season with four straight wins and a red-hot Cousins.
The Redskins will get the chance to move forward an play better when they travel to NY to take on the Giants at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 26. Cassel wasn’t great. He was average and didn’t make mistakes, but that’s good enough when not pitted against the “You like that!” version of Kirk Cousins. This season, he’s topped the mark in both of the first two games, but has thrown three interceptions compared to just one touchdown.
That’s in stark contrast to last season, when he was 50 for 79 for 345 yards and 22 touchdowns with zero interceptions inside the 20-yard line. This ultimately cost the game for the Redskins.
However, a fourth-down Hail Mary pass from the Cowboys’ 41 on the final play of the game sailed out of the back of the end zone.

The concerns continued on defense; the Redskins couldn’t get off the field on third downs. Mason Foster leads the way for Washington with 24 tackles, Will Compton has 23 tackles, and Bashaud Breeland has 19 tackles.
Aside from the lack of traveling, there isn’t much to quibble with Norman’s performance. On third-and-11 from the Redskins 23 Prescott found Bryant for 16 yards. But his interception against Dallas was a bad one in the red zone, and the Redskins’ offense has failed to produce consistently so far this year.
Getting the first win of the season is something that National Football League teams always look forward to. “He’s a good player, and he’s chippy”.
Elliott’s fumble two plays into the next possession – his second of the game – put the unit back on the field.

It sure is starting to look like the issue in Washington is the locker room, not the team’s quarterbacks. “Our quarterback”, he told sideline reporter Pam Oliver – but he changed his tune a bit as the Redskins turned their attention toward Week 3 opponent the New York Giants.
