Wounded New Jersey officers out of hospital
“The FBI is asking for assistance in locating Ahmad Khan Rahami”, FBI New York said in a tweet, released with the picture of the suspect, who is now also sought in connection with todays explosion in New Jersey as well.

Rahami lived with his family in Elizabeth in an apartment above a fried-chicken restaurant owned by his father, on a busy street a few miles from the Newark airport.
Ahmad Khan Rahami, a 28-year-old nationalized USA citizen born in Afghanistan, was arrested by police after a shootout in the city of Linden, New Jersey.
A bloodied Rahami was loaded into the back of an ambulance, just 50 hours after the first blast that started it all. Authorities say his head was grazed by bullet or shrapnel as the officers exchanged gunfire with suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami. Authorities have said a bulletproof vest saved Padilla from a more serious injury.
Ahmad Khan Rahami, a naturalized US citizen from Afghanistan with an address in Elizabeth, New Jersey, should be considered armed and risky, Mayor Bill de Blasio said in one of a series of TV appearances just minutes after the photo was released.
“We’re going to be very careful and patient to get to the full truth here”, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday.
Another section included a reference to “pipe bombs” and a “pressure cooker bomb” and declared: “In the streets they plan to run a mile”, an apparent reference to one of the blast sites, a charity run in Seaside Park, New Jersey. He described numerous injured as “disoriented” and said he helped guide one bleeding woman to an ambulance as he calmed others.
AP spokesman Paul Colford said the news cooperative told law enforcement officials about Rahami’s work in Cranbury.
No one has been charged, and the investigation is continuing, Langmesser said.
The official says two officers were shot in the encounter in Linden, New Jersey.
As a police auto pulled up at the traffic light in front of the shop, the man fired about six shots at the cruiser, then continued down the street with police following him, Bilinskas said.
The bombing spread fear across the NY area and revived anxiety about homegrown terrorism nationwide.
They later said they saw “no indication” Rahami is part of a terror cell after he was apprehended following a shootout on Monday; de Blasio emphasized that law enforcement officials are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
Ahmad Khan Rahami vowed to martyr himself rather than be caught after setting off explosives in NY and New Jersey, and he’d hoped in a handwritten journal championing jihad that “the sounds of bombs will be heard in the streets”, federal terrorism charges lodged against him Tuesday alleged.
Stepped-up security across the city is common as world leaders arrive for the United Nations General Assembly meeting, which is underway.
Officials said initially that they didn’t believe the bombs found Saturday night in New York City and Saturday morning in New Jersey were connected to global terrorism.
Authorities are still investigating whether that bombing is linked to explosive devices found nearby in Manhattan and in two sites in New Jersey.
Elizabeth Mayor Christian Bollwage said the devices were found in a bag in a trash can by two men who reported seeing wires and a pipe coming out of the package.
The lawsuit was terminated in 2012 because one of Rahami’s brothers had pleaded guilty to blocking police from enforcing closing hours at the restaurant.
Ramon Lopez said early Sunday that he was standing on West 23rd Street near Sixth Avenue Saturday night when he heard the explosion.
Authorities have not named the individual who injured nine individuals with a knife in a mall outside Minneapolis before an off-duty police officer shot and killed the attacker.
Rahami will be questioned in connection with the explosion that occurred yesterday in Chelsea district of Manhattan, New York, and injured 29 people, it said.
“All American Muslims, because they are immigrants, or children of immigrants, can be considered as having a “foreign connection”, Zakaria said in an email. “It’s hard when it’s home”, McCann said.
Meanwhile, a suspicious device exploded near a New Jersey Transit train station while a bomb squad worked to disarm it early Monday morning.

On Sunday, a federal law enforcement official said the Chelsea bomb contained a residue of Tannerite, an explosive often used for target practice that can be picked up in many sporting goods stores.
