Lawyers for slain Tulsa man
Another officer can be heard in the helicopter video saying, “Time for a Taser”. As Crutcher approaches the driver’s side of the SUV, more officers arrive and Crutcher appears to lower his hands and place them on the vehicle before the officers surround him.

Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivers a speech at Temple University on September 19, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
“Look at how many people are killed by police because they refuse to listen”, Wood said. The Tulsa county district attorney, Steve Kunzweiler, could cite conflicts of interest and ask for a DA in another county to take over, though Berlin says that’s unlikely and, he thought, unnecessary.
Officer Tyler Turnbough, who is also white, used a stun gun on Crutcher, police said. So before the social media world collectively tries and sentences Officer Shelby for murder – or anything else – a thorough and complete investigation is in order.
Police Chief Chuck Jordan, who called for the DOJ to investigate the killing, confirmed that Crutchers did not have a weapon on or near him at the time of his death. On the other hand, the fact that Shelby’s fellow officer used nonlethal force could undermine any assertion that the threat she perceived to her life was clear.
UPDATE: The Tulsa Police Department is now saying they found a vial of PCP in Crutcher’s auto, so it looks like they are turning on the Police PR Spin Machine.
There were no “exigent” or “emergency” circumstances that would have justified the use of lethal force, Crump said. Is that the command that Officer Shelby was giving? “The video footage, however, shows him with hands in the air, he walks away from the police at a slow pace, leans against the vehicle, and that is when he was shot”.
Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan said, “The video is very disturbing”.
Tulsa Police spokesperson Jeanne Mackenzie initially told KOTV.
Police were initially responding to reports of a stalled vehicle in the middle of the road.
On the other hand, if Shelby ordered Mr. Crutcher to stay put or to get on the ground, as her attorney says was the case – and good police training and common sense would call for – then the narrative falls apart and we are back to the “totality of the circumstances” that the Graham holding requires prosecutors and courts to apply when deciding whether or not someone committed a crime. In the video he speculated that Crutcher might “be on something”. In the video, she said the man was disabled, didn’t have a gun and was even scared of them.
After Shelby shot Crutcher, two officers walked to the opposite side of the vehicle to ensure the scene was safe; a female officer is then seen running away from the immediate area. She is now on paid administrative leave.
“He is not threatening to anyone”, lawyer Benjamin Crump said.
Hundreds of protesters rallied Tuesday night outside police headquarters in downtown Tulsa calling for Shelby to be fired.
We the People Oklahoma will hold a “protest for justice” at 6 p.m.at Tulsa’s Civic Center Plaza over Friday’s shooting death of Terence Crutcher.
The entire episode was captured on video footage shot from both a dashboard from a police cruiser on the scene as well as a camera that was rolling from a helicopter hovering above.
After Crutcher is hit, footage shows his limp and bloodied body lying on the roadway beside his vehicle.
Shelby’s attorney, Scott Wood, says the encounter unfolded for about 2 minutes before the video footage begins.

Betty Shelby declined to comment, referring calls to her attorney. “That looks like a bad dude, too”, said another officer.
