‘Gotham’ Season 3 Premiere Recap: Vigilantism In Gotham Never Felt So Good

Nope, the weirdest thing-and the Gotham-iest thing-is the scene where young Bruce Wayne visits young Selina Kyle, the future Catwoman on a rooftop.

With the Season 2 finale, we learnt that there were more than just a couple of monsters in Gotham, and they are no longer in the confines of cages in Indian Hill.

JET: What is the premise of the show Gotham? Court of Owls become a significant aspect of Gotham.

So the series tried to give us Baby Batman in Season 1, and it kind of sucked. We kick off the series with Bruce Wayne in middle school and his parents have just been shot.

And that’s because almost all of them are, apparently, original to the show. I mean, she fell into an open sewer, which in comic book world nearly always gives you superpowers.

JET: Talk about your role as Lucius Fox on the show. It’s revealed that the Bruce Wayne look-a-like is watching them. This series is in a nice, seasoned third season and we still have to worry that for every great storytelling decision it makes, Gotham will follow it with something completely bad.

When we last left Lee, she wasn’t in the best place. Better to have the show lean into his flaws at this point, given that he’s a freakin’ murderer and all, than try to pretend he belongs on the side of justice.

The threat of Fish Mooney starts developing; Bruce Wayne began to flourish as a businessman, and others like Oswald Cobblepot and villains began to take shape.

Chalk: I really appreciate Morgan, he’s obviously one of the greats. This new title, however, could surprise us by violence that could allow him to express. BD Wong has got a role to play on Mr. Robot. It’s a hard thing to compare the two of us because we are more in support of each other in a way. We’ve actually been talking about it, in the room breaking a story where Gordon is going to be outside of Gotham. He beat that proto-Killer Croc (Michael Montgomery) creature at the top of the episode by sheer luck and then, basically, continued to ride that wave of luck through the rest of the episode. The season premiere was loaded with new stories and interesting new plots for all of our favorite characters (and then some), and I’m very excited for what’s to come. Last night’s episode was exactly that: an overstuffed villain vehicle that was fun, albeit not entirely conclusive about the show’s direction. No one should go into season three expecting a show exploring the ethics and exploits of the Gotham City Police Department. We can catch up and go, “Wow, how did Penguin get here?” Animosity was established between the two, but like Leslie from season two, it’s entirely possible we’ll see a romance bloom between them. “He and Fish Mooney can not exist in the same city”. I don’t think there is a bottom! It’s a white guilt and a Black shame, and that is what makes people think we shouldn’t tell those stories. So the only person who can help them make their changes permanent is unusual.

The DC universe has expanded into movies and even TV shows over the past few years with programs like The Flash, Supergirl and Arrow.

JET: What else are you working on? The short answer is that Bruce is a really powerful symbol and the Wayne name is really powerful.
