Kane was one of three Tottenham players to depart due to injury, after Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele had already gone off with cramp in their hamstrings.
He made his debut just over a year ago against Sunderland, and added: “I remember that game at Sunderland, I didn’t expect to play as quickly as I did and make an impact in the team”, said Dele.
“But in football you don’t have time because the new season is starting and you need to be ready to help your team and ready to compete”.
The Lilywhites host Gillingham in the League Cup third round mid-week before next weekend’s trip to Middlesbrough in the Premier League.

In the changing room after the game, it was a bit sad and we were very disappointed. “Personally, I can’t think of anywhere better, with the fans, the manager we’ve got here and the young team – it’s a great place to be”.
“Everyone’s getting together; we’ve got some new faces and some injured lads coming back”.
