The Bears’ injury report also includes Cutler, whose thumb sprain won’t require surgery; defensive lineman Eddie Goldman, whose ankle sprain is still being evaluated; linebacker Lamarr Houston, whose knee injury is considered “substantial” as the team awaits an MRI; and safeties Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan, both of whom are in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

That’s a clear reference to the Bears’ starting quarterback without mentioning him by name, and the point about the growth from Cutler is a fair criticism.
The Bears dropped home games to Green Bay and Arizona and got shut out at Seattle before beating Oakland at home.
Bears fans deserve their future at the position, and now they’ll just have to suffer through one brutal season before potentially getting him. Over the course of last season and the beginning portions of this season, Fox has been the opposite of forthright with injuries. He was not on the injury report leading up to the Eagles game.
The Philadelphia Eagles look like they made the right call trading up to take Carson Wentz in April’s draft.
Thus far, Matthews leads the Eagles with 20 targets through the first two games and has posted 13 receptions for 185 yards and one touchdown. That’s generally rare from a rookie quarterback. Add another tally in the win column now.
Sturgis’ other field goals came from 25 and 29 yards.
