Telangana businessman hits labourer with vehicle, doesn’t stop

The shocking incident took place at around 10 pm on Monday.

A 38-year-old man was allegedly hit by a auto and flung on the roof of the vehicle which kept moving with the body for around three km in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, police said on Wednesday.

The man was 38-year-old Srinivasulu, a labourer from Nimmagaddabavi village.

Such was the impact of the collision that the victim, who was crossing the road, died nearly immediately. However, instead of stopping the auto, the driver tried to escape by increasing the speed, not realising that the body was lying on the roof of the vehicle.

According to NDTV, Srinivasulu was hit so hard that he flung through the air and landed on the roof of the auto.

The locals eventually stopped the driver, identified as Rajashree Reddy, but he managed to escape.

According to NDTV, when the police and local villagers caught up, the driver jumped out and ran away, abandoning the smashed up auto.

A case was registered in connection with the incident and during the course of investigation, police identified the vehicle owner as one Chandrakala, who resides in Kukatpally area of Hyderabad.
