Master of None Wins an Emmy for Outstanding Writing

List of winners at the annual Primetime Emmy Awards, announced Sunday by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The Emmys stood testimony to the fact that only does the Star English Entertainment Network strive to entertain its audiences in India but also endeavours to offer them with the best of English content. And Game of Thrones won its 38th Emmy, a new record-breaking number for a primetime series. Courtney B Vance bagged best actor in limited series or movie, Sarah Paulson won best actress and the best supporting actor honour to Sterling K Brown. While on the red carpet LeBlanc mentioned his reasons to watch the popular show “Game of Thrones” included the possibility of seeing actress Emilia Clarke naked.

Dame Maggie Smith would like her Emmy, Jimmy Kimmel. Bush also marked the beginning of the evening’s political humor, which took shots at the election and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. “I think that “Veep” has torn down the wall between comedy and politics”.

Master of None scored its first Emmy award, winning Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. The Saturday Night Live comedian, who had her website hacked and Twitter account flooded with racist slurs this summer, made light of the situation onstage with the Ernst & Young reps who hold the winners’ names.

Other Emmy newcomers included Canadian Tatiana Maslany, a surprise best drama actress victor who beat out presumed front runner Robin Wright for playing a woman with multiple cloned personalities in “Orphan Black”.

Also a surprise were lead actors in a drama series: Rami Malek for Mr. Robot and Tatiana Maslany for Orphan Black.

Beating formidable names like Kevin Spacey Matthew Rhys Kyle Chandler Bob Odenkirk and Liev Schreiber Rami Malek won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his eerie and edgy performance in USA
