For the past year, the two companies have collaborated on creating the new watches using Intel technology.
Designed for consumers seeking fashionable, yet tech-centric smartwatches, it looks like Fossil wants to take aim at the Apple Watch.
The Gear A will run a customised version of Samsung’s Tizen operating system, not Android Wear which is used for other wearable devices.
Clothing and watch manufacturer, Fossil Inc., had been very vocal about joining the smartwatch pool for quite some time now.
The world of smartwatches is about to get a little more crowded with Fossil – a household name in regular mechanical watches – officially entering the fray.
Details about the specs, features as well as pricing and exact availability dates weren’t announced at the forum.
Along with the watch, Fossil will also release a bracelet Android Wear.

The connected watch ties in with what Fossil CEO Kosta Kartsotis said earlier this month when he stated the company’s most important category of wearable, in the long term, would be its existing watches made smarter.
