Two people are killed after a plane crashes at Lee’s Summit airport. When they arrived they found the plane had crashed on the west side of the airport tarmac.
“Our initial investigation says this was their destination”. They were traveling from Des Moines to Lee’s Summit to visit family when the crash occurred.
Officials say there was no indication anyone on the plane reported any problems or asked for help. Calls to a number listed for Teko Air were not answered immediately Tuesday night.
The FAA is en route. The Lee’s Summit Airport is not towered, meaning there is no tower for pilots to communicate with.
