If anyone bought a Galaxy Note 7 before September 15, 2016, it is recommended that this phone be powered down and taken down to the original store.

Samsung will have enough Galaxy Note 7 phones in stores Wednesday to replace half of the devices recalled for a battery problem.
The company is including software on the new versions to let users know they’ve got a safe model: a green battery icon on the status bar, the always-on display screen and the shut-down screen.
Samsung is strongly encouraging users who own phones with affected batteries to exchange them for new devices. This alert will appear every time that the Note 7 is powered on and when it’s charging. Expect the other half to come along soon, as Samsung likely wants to get all of the potentially unsafe Note 7s out of consumers’ hands and get this whole situation behind is as soon as possible. Apart from that Samsung is also urging people to turn down their phones to their retailer or where they have bought the phone and just request a refund or a replacement phone.
However, an investigation has traced these problems to charging and the company is limiting battery charging on Galaxy Note 7 devices to prevent inferno.
After the software update and you see a green icon, that means your new Galaxy Note 7 features a non-defective battery.
Samsung has specified that Galaxy Note 7s sold in China are not subject to the global recall because their batteries were made by a different manufacturer.
Will you still buy a Galaxy Note 7? “As such, the Galaxy Note 7 will be available in South Africa in November”, he explains in a statement. It conducted the tests jointly with Samsung using one of the devices that were part of the Samsung phone fires in China. Because the devices had different battery suppliers, Samsung went ahead with their Note 7 launch on September 7.
