Fans of Stranger Things who also happen to be fans of the comedy series Parks and Recreation have noticed that Joe Keery (who plays Steve on Netflix’s sci-fi show) looks an terrible lot like Ben Schwartz, who played Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on the NBC comedy series. Steven and Nancy had Jean-Ralphio and they were raised by Steve’s brother Dr. Saperstein along with his daughter Mona Lisa and changed Jean-Ralphio’s name to protect him.

Fans of both shows noticed a physical resemblance between the two actors, and Schwartz told James Corden on The Late Late Show that he believes Steve is Jean-Ralphio’s father. And I know I posted it before, but just watch this video one more time, because it really is scary how in sync they are..

Schwartz first (coyly) confirmed the connection during an episode of Stranger-er Things on the Late Show. Cue up John Lennon’s “Beautiful Boy” and gaze at them shaving together like family. (An alternate theory suggests that Pawnee is a happier, less terrifying alternate Upside Down for the Stranger Things town, Hawkins.) It all gets weird – but it kind of checks out?
