After 8 Straight Losses, Steelers Looking For Philadelphia Freedom Sunday Against Eagles

An 11-play 77-yard drive which once again stalled in the redzone saw Caleb Sturgis kick Philadelphia to within one point, and then with half-time on the horizon, Wentz threw a ideal ball to the corner of the endzone only for Jordan Matthews to drop the sure touchdown, forcing Sturgis to enter once more to kick the Eagles ahead.

“You know it was cool but at the same time it was something for me I just try to not make it bigger than it needs to be”, said Wentz. “There were a lot of eyes on us tonight but, again, it’s a football game”, Wentz said.

The win moves the Eagles to 2-0 at the start of the season.

Jay Cutler left Week 2’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the second half with a thumb injury on his throwing hand.

He is the first rookie quarterback in National Football League history to start and win the opening two games of the season without a turnover. Cutler played two more series and exited the game after the Eagles’ Nigel Bradham stepped in front of a badly underthrown pass intended for Alshon Jeffery, who was about 10 yards up the field.

Cutler during his new conference following the game was wearing a protective cast that covered his right hand. When all three are finally healthy, Doug Pederson intends to put them on the field together.

Trailing 9-7 coming out of halftime, the Bears had the ball on first down at the Eagles’ 43-yard line and were driving to take the lead when Cutler was strip-sacked.

Cutler made 12 of 17 passes for 157 yards but was sacked three times by a rampant Eagles defense. The Eagles first six plays were passes, all of them short but all of them complete. “But the thing for me is that I’d much rather learn from a mistake with a win rather than a loss”.

BEREA, Ohio (AP) – Cleveland’s notorious quarterback carousel has thrown another rider.

Three weeks ago, this was a kid who was projected to spend the entire season as the team’s No. 3 quarterback. “Maybe not to this degree any place I have been”.

McCown’s injury comes just a week after Robert Griffin III broke a bone in his left shoulder during the season opener at Philadelphia and will be sidelined for a minimum of eight games.

Pittsburgh has looked pretty good so far this season, and comes into Week 3 at 2-0 following a 24-16 defeat of their division rival Bengals on Sunday.
