The Weeknd Shares Upcoming Album Title & Cover Art, Flaunts New Haircut

Taking to Twitter today, the artwork and title were revealed in a single tweet at noon EDT.

Considering Beauty Behind The Madness gifted us with a bunch of hits AND scored an Album Of The Year nod at the 2016 Grammys, odds are this record will be AH-mazing as well! It’s a safe bet that more will be known soon, though, and that we’ll get see everything that The Weeknd’s Starboy will have to offer in the months to come. He also unveils the official album cover shot by acclaimed photographer Nabil.

The Weeknd, 26, recently spoke with fashion and culture magazine Vman about the sound of his upcoming album, saying he found inspiration in artists and groups like the Smiths, Bad Brains, Talking Heads, Prince, and DeBarge. He briefly spoke Amharic on the track “The Hills” from “Beauty Behind the Madness”. He said they all influenced his appearance and esthetic. But fans have continued to wait for some concrete details, releases, or announcements.

According to The FADER, the new album may feature a Daft Punk collaboration, with the singer cryptically posting a picture of two robots (a potential reference to Daft Punk’s robot masks) shortly after.
