Bentley Bentayga Diesel Boasts Audi SQ7 TDI Firepower
The 2017 Bentley Bentayga Diesel is not due to be launched until next January, but for those of you that have been eager to learn about its technical specifications, then you will be pleased to know that Bentley has been in the sharing mood. This is expected to improve on-road as well as off-road performance of the Bentayga diesel. It goes on sale next year, but probably won’t be available in the U.S.

Of course, this isn’t just any diesel, it’s a Bentley diesel (well, to be fair, it’s more of an Audi diesel) which means 4.0 litres of V8, 429 of the finest oil-burning horses and a very large 664 lb/ft of the twisty stuff. The Bentley Bentayga petrol, which we have reviewed is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine which produces 608PS and 900Nm of torque. The V8 engine drives all four wheels via a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Bentayga diesel claims to accelerate from 0-100kmph in 4.8s and attain a top speed of 270kmph. Those are both highly improbable figures for a diesel SUV weighing over 5,000 pounds.
The Bentley Bentayga represents Crewe’s foray into the world of SUVs, and it is now also the company’s first diesel vehicle.
Standard equipment on the Bentayga Diesel includes multi-mode air suspension, hill descent control, predictive adaptive cruise control, and an infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen, satellite navigation, 60GB hard drive, and a 10.2-inch Android Entertainment Tablet for rear seat passengers.

Bentley says the Bentayga Diesel offers great ride comfort, steering feel and handling thanks to a sophisticated chassis and electronic stability control. It will go on sale in Europe early next year, followed by Russia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan later in the year.
