Toure’s City career over unless Pep gets apology

Guardiola is refusing to play Toure until his agent, Dimitri Seluk, apologises for criticising the decision to leave the player out of the club’s Champions League squad.

Yaya Touré has no chance of playing for Manchester City again unless manager Pep Guardiola gets an apology for comments made by the player’s agent. “Until he doesn’t speak, Yaya is not going to play”. Of course Pep will make changes in the domestic cup competitions, but the players he will be bringing in will be world class global players – that is the strength of the Manchester City squad.

“Guardiola wins a few games and think he is king”, Seluk told Sky.

“Guardiola also needs to apologise to Joe Hart”.

“I know him, I know he’s a good good guy”.

I don’t why I – or Yaya – must apologise because I didn’t say anything special.

He said Seluk did not have the “courage” to call him but said Seluk could always apologise via the media.

Keep up with the latest football updates by following ESPN FC on Twitter. “If he doesn’t, he won’t play”, said Guardiola. The first thing he did when he arrived at City was to pick a fight with Yaya and Joe Hart, two of the club’s biggest players.

“But the day after, his manager spoke”.

Guardiola, not willing to let Seluk’s criticisms undermine his coaching decisions, told reporters that Toure would stay on the bench until his agent apologizes for his temper tantrum.

Seluk said he believes Guardiola should respect City’s history and called on the coach to also apologize to both Toure and Hart.

But the current impasse appears increasingly likely to end Toure’s decorated City career on 269 appearances and 72 goals, as his team-mates prepare to face Swansea City in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday. “Until he doesn’t speak, Yaya is not going to play”.

“When I asked City what fee they wanted they said it depended on the club”.

Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure has announced his retirement from global football.

Seluk said: “Many clubs were interested in signing Yaya before the transfer window closed”. He’s just been sitting on the sidelines so there hasn’t been anything really interesting going on with him, but there’s plenty of drama going on with his agent Dimitri Seluk and Pep Guardiola.

“I respect managers like (Claudio) Ranieri, who achieve without spending so much money on players”.

Guardiola added that captain Vincent Kompany, out since May with a thigh injury, could return at the Liberty Stadium.
