Youtube Launches the #VoteIRL Campaign
The Google-owned video platform on Wednesday unveiled a campaign called #voteIRL, created to get young people to the polls for the upcoming USA election. Content creators such as Bethany Mota, Hank Green, Hannah Hart, and Kingsley deliver its mission statement in a new video, where they encourage viewers to vote and share their own videos using #voteIRL on YouTube and other social media.

Also coming to the platform: a series of 1 minute 34 second videos, because studies suggest it only takes that amount of time to register to vote.
Tim DeLaGhetto, the Fung Bros and other top YouTube stars have also made videos of this length.
As part of the # voteIRL campaign, registration reminders will be featured on YouTube’s homepage, watch page and search results page on National Voter Registration Day (Sept. 27). YouTube collaborated with PBS in 2008 and Barack Obama in 2012, and Google has created voting and campaign tools for the 2016 USA election and plenty of others overseas.
YouTube, as part of launching a get-out-the-vote initiative aimed at young Americans, has set deals to live-stream the USA presidential debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump from PBS, NBCUniversal’s Telemundo and the Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post.

According to YouTube, users have uploaded more than 200,000 videos related to the 2016 election each day since the GOP and Democratic conventions in July.
