You will get your recalled Galaxy Note7 back very soon

Samsung’s worldwide recall for the Galaxy Note 7 continues, as the company races to have the smartphones replaced before they do further damage and cause additional injuries due to their exploding batteries.

T-Mobile says that replacement Galaxy Note 7 devices will be available “in most retail locations” starting Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Meanwhile, Samsung had previously said initial investigations showed faulty batteries as the cause of the fire hazard. “A very large likelihood exists that other factors gave rise to the heat problem”, Amperex Technology Ltd. said. “Our highest priority is the safety of our customers, and we strongly urge Galaxy Note7 users to immediately participate in the replacement program based on local availability”.

Samsung Electronics launched the Note 7 phone in China on September 1 amid a growing number of reports of the phones catching fire overseas.

The problem doesn’t affect all Note 7 phones, because Samsung uses batteries from different suppliers.

Samsung has now launched its Galaxy Note 7 exchange program in the United Kingdom, following similar programs in the US and Canada.

Samsung originally released the software update in its native South Korea.

Galaxy Note 7 owners should not panic though.

South Korea’s government has not issued an official recall like its counterparts in the us and Canada. But since it’s hard to tell a good first-batch Samsung Galaxy Note 7 from a bad one, the company recalled all of them.

Once you turn the phone on, you’ll get another indication: the battery icon will be green instead of white.

On Monday, another user posted on a social media account that his Note 7 also had exploded.

Additionally, Samsung will mark the packaging of its new Galaxy Note 7 units so that you can identify the phone without even turning it on.
