Uri terror attack: Shiv Sena warns Centre of people’s retaliation

Mumbai: Dubbing Pakistan as a “shameless” country that would not be affected by any global condemnation, Shiv Sena on Wednesday demanded “revenge” on the neighbour and sought to know what exactly Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going to do in response to the Uri attack.

“We have hot tea, and before the tears have dried, we wait for another terror attack”.

“We must keep in mind how Pakistan treats India and give it a befitting reply.”, Thackeray urged Modi.

The editorial cited the example of Mahabharat and said that India should take revenge from Pakistan in the same way as Bhim took the revenge from Kichak for “Draupadi’s cheer haran”.

In a series of tweets after the attack, the Prime Minister had said: “I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished”. Their services to the nation will always be remembered.

He said that entire India was in grief and stands by the bereaved families. “He had made similar statements after the terror strike at Pathankot air base”, the Sena said in an editorial in party mouthpiece “Saamana”. “The same statements are being made today”, the Shiv Sena said.

Meanwhile, China has expressed concern over rising temperature in Jammu and Kashmir, especially after the Uri terrorist attack.

Congress leader P.L. Punia told ANI that the Pakistani Army is completely involved in the Uri incident and if, Indian Government takes any action against them, they are right. 18 soldiers died in the attack while 20 soldiers were injured.

Evidence of Pakistan’s hand in Uri attack i.e. Global Positioning System tracker movements that go back to starting point in Pakistan, Pashto literature, Pakistan Army marked arms will be given to Islamabad at the DGMO level, sources add.

After the attack, Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said that Pakistan was a terrorist state and it should be isolated and sanctioned by the global community.

According to sources, India will raise the matter in the United Nations General Assembly and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will strongly emphasize Pakistan’s involvement in her speech on September 26.
