Cases of Eggo Waffles Recalled for Listeria Concerns
The company said it learned about the possible problem after routine tests and hasn’t received any reports of illnesses.

“In terms of actual cases it’s the probably on the lower side of incidence in the United States – estimates maybe less than two-thousand cases a year”.
As the company explained, infection with the Listeria monocytogenes bacterium usually results in short-term illness – high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in otherwise healthy people. The bacteria can grow in foods such as uncooked meats and vegetables, soft cheeses and unpasteurized milk. It primarily affects the elderly, pregnant women, newborns and people with weak immune systems. Unlike many other bacteria, Listeria is capable of growing even while in the cold temperatures of a refrigerator. The recalled product could be infected with lysteria.
The affected product has a UPC Code of 38000 40370 and a Best if Used by Date of Nov 21 2017 or Nov 22 2017.
The products were distributed to 25 states, including MI.
