Just after 1 p.m., the Auburn Police Department reported the suspected robber was being treated at the scene around 2nd and D Streets.
Auburn police say the robbery happened around noon at the KeyBank at 101 E. Main Street. The man fell in an alley between D and Main Street.
Officials say he was alive and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The officer and the suspect then exchanged gun fire.
Steve Stocker said it’s unclear at this time whether the officer shot the suspect or if the suspect shot himself.
Officer on September 20 received information that allegedly tied Adams to the robbery, which occurred at BB&T at 152 Prominence Point Parkway.

Stocker said evidence from the vehicle the man was riding in tied him to the bank robbery.
