Clinton sketched the basic details of each case. Both Oklahoma state authorities and the U.S. Department of Justice have launched investigations to determine if Crutcher’s civil rights were violated and if criminal charges should be brought against the officers responsible.
Trump says he’s “very, very troubled” by the actions of the officer. And this young officer, I don’t know what she was thinking. “It’s unbearable and it needs to become intolerable”.
“I know I don’t have all the answers”.
People are much more complex than the color of their skin and more Americans need to start acknowledging that by independently thinking beyond the rhetoric their hear, by seeking truth and fact and by avoiding the inclination to jump to conclusions.
Crutcher was shot by a Tulsa officer after complying with requests to put his hands in the air while standing near a vehicle blocking the road. The mogul has routinely praised police officers in his speeches to supporters and has cynically suggested that black voters should support him because they “have nothing to lose”. In the past, he has criticized the Black Lives Matter movement for questioning police tactics.
She has made the use of police force against African Americans a central plank of her campaign.
I’ve watched the helicopter video of the shooting again and can’t tell if the window was up or down. And that man was hands up. Police have said that he exited his auto with a weapon, CNN reported.
Trump made the comments in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where he was addressing the Pastors Leadership Conference at the New Spirit Revival Center. “And he looked like a really good man”.
Shelby’s lawyer has said she feared for her life, believing Crutcher was reaching into his vehicle for a weapon.
While a lawyer for Betty Shelby, the officer who shot Crutcher, has maintained that she believed him to be under the influence of a narcotic, his family says he was waiting for help for his auto, and that shooting Crutcher was not an appropriate response to intoxication.
Betty Shelby’s mother-in-law, Lois Shelby, said the officer is grieving for Crutcher’s family and isn’t prejudiced.
On July 11, police in Sacramento shot and killed Joseph Mann, a 50-year-old black man who ran from officers, then stopped to gesture at them before they shot him.
Earlier this week, presidential nominee Hillary Clinton addressed the shooting on social media and during a televised interview. Trump called for unity after the shootings of black men in two cities.
Clinton, meanwhile, was campaigning in Orlando, Florida, later Wednesday. They collectively called for immediate charges against the officer who shot and killed Terence Crutcher. “And last night in Charlotte, 12 officers were injured during demonstrations”.

“Every day, police officers are serving with extraordinary honor, courage and skill”, she said.
