Man City’s early season focus not on titles, says Pep Guardiola

Manchester City’s 4-0 victory over Bournemouth means Pep Guardiola has won every competitive match as City boss, securing the Citizens’ best-ever start to a season in the process.

The Citizens now sit two points ahead of the chasing pack, having taken maximum points from their first five matches and recording successive 4-0 victories in their games against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League and AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

“When we talk about (Lionel) Messi, maybe he can sit alone in the table, with no-one else allowed”.

Guardiola won a glut of trophies with Messi during their time together at Barcelona and in his eyes, the Argentina superstar is the only player who can put de Bruyne in the shade. “I’m feeling good every time I play with my team-mates, playing to instruction to play good”.

“Kevin is an outstanding player, a player on another level”, he said. I am lucky and we are lucky to have him. But we really care about the WTF, and how unbelievable of a meme it is.

“Hopefully as late as possible, but we are a good team, but there are many things we can make better”. In between, Kelechi Iheanacho and Raheem Sterling scored either side of half-time as top-of-the-table City maintained their 100 percent record with eight wins out of eight in all competitons.

De Bruyne opened the scoring with a clever free-kick as Guardiola’s men maintained their ideal start to the Premier League season at the Etihad Stadium.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Nacer Chadli marked a superb home debut with two goals, one a penalty, and two assists as they beat hapless West Ham United 4-2 to hand the Londoners a third straight league defeat.

“It was hard for Jack”, Howe said. That is what I like the most because the people are so proud when famous players run, run run, without the ball. “After that we are going to see”.

“It was a hard day for us”.

“The referee saw the action, we will have to accept that”, Guardiola said of the costly altercation. We have played absolutely nothing. “You have to give them credit for the way they played but we can do better”, added the 38-year-old Englishman.
