MSU says enrollment at the Springfield campus has grown almost 16% over the past five years.

Dakota State University officials say the 2016 fall semester enrollment numbers have set an all-time record of 3,190 students. The previous record of 24,735 students was established last fall.

The incoming class has shown growth in all areas: first-time freshmen (7.5 percent), transfer students (49.6 percent), graduate students (16 percent), dual credit students (84.8 percent) and part-time students (41.2 percent). Since 2011, enrollment on the Springfield campus has grown by 3,314 students (15.9 percent).

Part of VCSU’s growth is due to increases in its first-to-second-year retention rate each of the last four years, the release said.

“Our students tell us time and time again that our quality faculty, personal attention and family atmosphere are defining characteristics of a Tarleton education”, Dottavio noted.

Missouri State announced Wednesday enrollment systemwide has hit yet another new fall record, up 5% from fall of 2015. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the campus.

Transfer students are also increasingly coming to DSU to complete their degrees at the University.
