Chargers put Keenan Allen on injured reserve, Joey Bosa on active roster

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen left in the first half of Sunday’s game at Kansas City with a knee injury that could possibly end his season.

Allen immediately grabbed for his right knee after falling to the turf while trying to make a cut in the middle of the Arrowhead Stadium field late in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.

Smith also entered the game 1-13 as a Chief when his defense gives up 24 or more points, and 3-41 all time. “The guy’s an extremely talented player”.

“We knew we would have some learning to do with it being our first full game together”. He had to be carted off the field.

Ware picked up the start in absence of All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles.

Or rather, Ware had to shoulder it. The Chiefs rushed 19 times for 83 yards, a respectable 4.4-yard average, after a middling first half.

But Ware’s performance in the passing game might have been the biggest takeaway, and the biggest source of optimism for Kansas City going forward.

In Seattle, rookie running back C.J. Prosise sprained one of his wrists in the first half and wore a protective cast on the sideline, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said.

Opposite Julio Jones, new addition Mohamed Sanu caught five passes for 80 yards, including a 59-yard reception and a touchdown. “Coach said it was OK if I wanted to express my thoughts about what I wanted to do, so I just expressed it”. “And then, I felt like everybody just kind of said enough’s enough”. That came with the Chiefs’ trailing 27-20 and just over one minute to play.

At the half, San Diego had a 21-3 lead and it wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Kansas City Chiefs really showed they were able to win this contest.

From there, the Chiefs got a Smith touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill, an interception, a touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, a field goal, a 22-yard throw to Maclin to set up Ware’s 5-yard tying touchdown run and then Smith’s scoring run. A lot of emotion there at the end of the game to come back the way we did. In a sign of the growing confidence the Chiefs have in Smith to run the show, he checked out of a play and into the run at the line of scrimmage. He’s always positive, always trying to see what he can do.

Three of the Raiders’ four scores, however, came from players who nearly certainly went undrafted in fantasy leagues – backup running backs Jalen Richard and Jamize Olawale and second-year wideout Seth Roberts. Even at 33 years of age, Colston could still be an asset on offense for the San Diego Chargers. Since Coach Reid’s arrival in KC, he has garnered three consecutive winning seasons, and to make it four in the parity driven National Football League, the Chiefs will have to win games such as the one they face on Sunday against a Division rival at home.
