Fresh Encounter Breaks Out in North Kashmir
Police said security forces surrounded Aragam Chitti Bandi village after receiving information about militants being holed up in the village, which triggered the gunfight.

A militant was killed in an encounter with security forces this morning in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said here. While it is reported that one of the terrorists has been gunned down, an operation is still underway.
An Indian army officer claimed that the youth was a militant and was killed in an encounter with the troops.
He said few militants are suspected to be hiding in the house.
“The firing is going on between the two sides”, the report quoted him as saying.

This attack comes just days after the Uri attacks which claimed the lives of 18 soldiers, leaving several others injured.
