In an interview with Famitsu (via Destructoid), producer Yosuke Hayashi revealed that Koei Tecmo is interested in a Western release of the upcoming T&A simulator, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. The two versions will have different names, with the PS4 being referred as Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune, and the PS Vita version as Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus.

The Dead or Alive Extreme is a spinoff of the popular Dead or Alive fighting game. Though incredibly tacky at face value thanks to its gratuitous focus upon computer-generated semi-nudity, Dead or Alive Xtreme actually managed to cultivate a dedicated fan base, and though its sequel was somewhat disappointing, the first Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball game on the original Xbox was admittedly a lot of fun.

The nine top favorite characters will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show in September. There’s no word on an Xbox One release of the game, so it seems likely that this is a Sony-exclusive. It was given a mature rating which can only be played and sold to adult gamers.

But if you wanted to skip all that “fighting” nonsense, you could dive in to the DOAX games, which took place on a desert island resort and replaced uppercuts with volleyball, roundhouse kicks with lounging by the pool, and punishing throws with girls bumping each other with their butts.

In related news, the Dead or Alive 5: Last Round garnered a fair review from experts due to its excellent gameplay and animation.
