Samsung and the CPSC said all users of Note7s sold prior to September 15 need to power down their devices.

About a quarter of affected phones had been exchanged in the United States by Tuesday, according to a spokeswoman for Samsung’s US subsidiary.

Samsung said in a statement that customers who mad an exchange also receiveda $25 gift card, or in-store credit.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and its twin S7 edge share some of the similar features which can be tested with Android 7.0 Nougat smoothly and seamlessly.

Samsung first made problems about the Galaxy Note 7 public September 2 and officially launched a recall September 15.

“Samsung is taking steps that go above and beyond what the average recalling company does”.

Globally, the world’s top smartphone maker has recalled at least 2.5 million handsets, in a major setback for the company that is looking to claw back market share from rivals, including Apple Inc that recently released its latest iPhones.

Samsung said yesterday that it had shipped its first batch of replenishment stock, providing 500,000 safe Note 7 phones, but that they would go to people who were forced to trade in their potentially explosive devices for safety reasons.
