Later, when September 21 became the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.
“On this International Day of Peace, express your commitment to peace by becoming a champion of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
Around 1.5 lakh school students from all over the state participated in the Mass Yoga Demonstration and Meditation in synchrony. The day was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly and in 2001, the General Assembly voted to designate the day as a period of non-violence and ceasefire.
By creating the International Day of Peace, the United Nations devoted itself to worldwide peace and encouraged people to work in cooperation for this goal. The International Day of Peace is also known as Peace Day. The symbolism of a day without fighting is a crucial reminder that conflict can and must come to an end. It is about building a global society in which people live free from poverty and share the benefits of prosperity.
