Red Cross urges blood and platelet donations during National Preparedness Month

The Red Cross is urging eligible donors to give blood, especially after a significant blood shortage this summer. Fewer donations can lead to blood shortages that have a negative effect on patient care in a disaster or emergency. You can also purchase a subscription and have full access to the site.

In the event a local or national disaster does strike, there will be a need for blood.
