Arizona Cardinals bitten again by injury bug — this time on defensive line
Defensive lineman Corey Peters grabs Kerwynn Williams’ jersey during training camp. So far, they have not suffered many key injuries – until recently.

Iupati inked a five-year deal with the Cardinals in the offseason, primarily to bolster the left side of the offensive line. Iupati is known for his powerful run blocking.
Starting left guard Mike Iupati will undergo surgery for a torn left meniscus. Peters’ latest injury occurred during Wednesday’s practice, coach Bruce Arians told reporters on Thursday. It’s really unknown, if the rookies or even undrafted guys can make enough of a splash to secure a spot, that’s great. “He should be able to bounce back mentally quicker”. Until then, the Cardinals will turn to veteran Ted Larsen at left guard. Locally, Mike Jurecki said it could be four to six weeks.
The Cardinals are already without another starter on that offensive line so running the ball in the early part of the season should be tough. Despite his overall strong play, Iupati has dealt with numerous injuries over the past couple of seasons, including a broken fibula in the 2013 NFC Championship Game.
The Cardinals landed Peters with a three-year, $9.1 million contract, $5.75 million of which was guaranteed.
“Obviously you don’t want a rash of (injuries) in the same positions, knock on wood”, he said.

Arians has long praised the depth along both lines of scrimmages, depth that now will be tested.
