Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has given Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy a big thumbs up, saying there was “no doubt” the GOP nominee would be a strong leader.
Trump has hinged his candidacy on anti-Muslim policies, including his vow to ban Muslims from the United States and his recent call for police to profile Arab and Muslim men, taking the cue from Israel. “I don’t want to comment specifically on who but a couple of people are coming over”.
Egyptian state television said on Wednesday it had sacked its head of news after an old interview with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was screened in error.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton met with Sisi as well as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
But within hours, he spoke to Sisi of his “high regard for peace-loving Muslims”. This news story is related to Latest/151265-Trump-Clinton-compete-to-meet-top-leaders-in-New-York/ – breaking news, latest news, pakistan ne.
Clinton began her meeting with talk of cooperation and counterterrorism measures, according to the Clinton campaign’s statement.
In his discussion with the Jewish leaders, he outlined his vision of Egypt in the future and emphasized his commitment to human rights and religious reforms. Clinton was more vocal, calling for Egypt to release imprisoned US-citizen Aya Hijazi and to take greater action to prevent human rights abuses.
In 2011, Egyptians demanded the overthrow of then-President Hosni Mubarak, who had ruled for 30 years with support from the United States as a result of his suppression of extremist elements and his willingness to maintain peace with Israel.
During the meeting, Trump expressed his recognition of Egypt’s close relationship with Israel on countering terrorism, the campaign said.

Trump “understands that every day there are people of goodwill that sacrifice their lives and fortunes to combat the growing threat of radical Islamic terrorism”, the campaign readout said.
