Local authorities and federal agents are interested in speaking with the unknown men after surveillance footage captured them sifting through luggage left on the sidewalk, removing the pressure-cooker bomb, and walking away from the scene with the luggage. “I put him in jail two years ago”, the elder Rahami said.

The subject of a manhunt that spurred an emergency alert sent to cellphones in the NY area, Rahami was found sleeping in the hallway of a bar in Linden, N.J. The business’ owner discovered Rahami and, thinking he was a vagrant, called police. Pressure cookers bombs were used there and the USA media are reporting Rahami was found with handwritten notes praising the bombers, the 2009 Fort Hood shooter and the American-born cleric and al-Qaeda recruiter-the late Anwar al-Awlaki.
