The Argentina worldwide has hit the ground running under Pep Guardiola by scoring nine goals in his first five games, including two hat-tricks with just a month of the season played.

The 28-year-old’s contract is due to expire in 2019 and he’d previously expressed a desire to re-sign for boyhood club Independiente once his City deal winds down.

Manchester City’s 4-0 victory in the Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach was certainly great, but there were bad news coming out of it.
Gundogan was fouled in the box resulting in the penalty for City’s third goal, but he wasn’t going to stand in the way of Aguero’s chance to complete his second hat-trick of the season.
“We played well, so thanks to all the players for making me so happy, for making our fans happy and I hope our football can get better and better”.
He said: “Their performance against Manchester United last week didn’t suggest they’re crying out for Sergio Aguero”. I’m thinking about what’s going to happen tomorrow – what I have to tell, what I have to do, what do I have to train for them to be ready for our game.

City face Bournemouth without the suspended Aguero on Saturday looking to make it five straight wins to kick off the Premier League season, but Guardiola is taking nothing for granted despite his side’s fast start.
He expects the improvement to continue sharply in the short term but, even after that, he says the process is always an ongoing one. “We need him. It’s a lot of games and we need all the central defenders, strikers, wingers, attacking midfielders, holding midfielders, full-backs, goalkeepers – we need everybody”.
“Tough challenges are waiting for us, but we are all excited to prove ourselves and do our best”. We didn’t stop the build-up of the opponent and in one-on ones and in defence we didn’t show the quality we have shown in previous campaigns. It’s an opportunity to improve. “We need him. There’s a lot of games to come – we need everybody”.
“The next step with this club is to be there every single season, quarterfinal, semifinal and maybe in the final”, Guardiola said.
Aguero has bagged 145 goals for City and is seventh in their all-time list of top scorers, only 33 behind the record holder, Erik Book, and with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan around him, he is sure to reach that target.
“There are so many incredible, talented players, but it’s a long season with so many games and we want to compete in all competitions”.
