Toure’s agent hits back at Guardiola

Toure has been found himself frozen out of the team by Manchester City new coach Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola, Toure’s coach at Barcelona when he was sold to City in 2010, said: “It was so hard for me to put him out of the Champions League, so hard”.

Far from backing down, Seluk launched a lengthy tirade in response – via interviews with Sky Sports News and the Daily Mirror – in which he belittled Guardiola’s achievements and questioned his integrity over City announcing his appointment while Manuel Pellegrini remained at the helm last season. I live in Europe so I can say whatever I like and Guardiola can’t stop me.

“If Pep Guardiola wants a war, then he can have one”, Seluk said.

“I know him, I know he’s a good guy, but it was hard for me as well to put Aleix Garcia out, [they are] the only two players that are out, because the list is the list”.

It had been assumed 33-year-old Toure, who missed training last week with a migraine, would come back into the reckoning for the game after Guardiola admitted he will make changes. “Pellegrini was a gentleman”.

But today, it is with regret that we learn of this news, and I wonder if a succession will be assured because he was a valiant fighter and an honest citizen with many services rendered to this country. When you come to a country you must respect the country and respect its people. “Until he speaks, Yaya isn’t going to play”. “He will want to win it all this season, and with the squad Manchester City have there is no reason he can’t achieve that”. They have won their eight games in all competitions – a club record – and preserved their two-point advantage at the Premier League summit with a razor-sharp 4-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

“After he arrived, they started winning: two league titles, cups and now the semis of the Champions League”.

Yaya Toure will be told he can pick his next club in January to end his Manchester City hell.

Reports in Portugal claimed Guardiola attended Benfica’s game against Braga on Monday to watch 21-year-old left-back Alex Grimaldo, but Press Association Sport reported on Wednesday that the manager was not in Lisbon and City have no interest in the player.

“I can not accept as a coach, every manager when his player doesn’t play, going to the media to speak and speak and speak”.

Guardiola appears to be incredulous at the role of Seluk and will not tolerate any interference from outside. If not, then he hoped that “Pep has got the balls to say that he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya”. I don’t know the words I must apologise for because I didn’t do anything.

Jesus, who has been allowed to remain with Palmeiras until their league season is over, says that the personal touch from the Blues manager was a key factor. Until he speaks, Yaya is not going to play.

“I can not imagine when I was a player that my manager would go to the media and speak against (former Barcelona coach) Johan Cruyff and say about this and that”.

Off the pitch, Cote D’Ivoire midfielder Yaya Toure announced on Wednesday that he will retire from global duty.
