Throughout his stellar coaching career, 45-year-old Spaniard Guardiola has managed some of the world’s finest players, including Xavi and Andres Iniesta at Barcelona and Arjen Robben and Thomas Muller at Bayern Munich.

Guardiola says Bournemouth are best attacking team he has played against.

“I really believe that if we’d got our defensive play right we’d have had a chance of getting something from the game but unfortunately the goals we conceded in the first half were really disappointing, especially the second one”.

“When we talk about (Lionel) Messi, maybe he can sit alone in the table, with no-one else allowed”.

It may be too soon to talk about titles and trophies for Manchester City, but they’ve made the flawless start under Guardiola. “He understands the game, he is physically strong, he helps us out a lot defensively, aggressive without the ball and with the ball it is clear”.

City, the Premier League leaders, have scored 25 goals in all competitions and are the only side with a 100% record.

“I thought they were a level above us, but I feel we could have done a lot better”.

“Bournemouth were the best team we’ve played”.

“I know his quality and of course he needs minutes and the next game of course he’s going to have these minutes”.

“Kevin is a special player”, said Guardiola.

“My happiness does not depend on whether the win all of the titles or not”.

Ilkay Gundogan has hit the ground running for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

“They wanted to play and our high pressing in the first half was not flawless”. They play completely different football than last season.

The Blues’ star striker Sergio Aguero will be available for the next league game but Guardiola has a problem of plenty on his hands, as City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho has filled Aguero’s space quite well. Everything starts with that humble attitude. “And with the ball the quality of the players made the difference”.
