Colin Kaepernick Kneels for National Anthem on MNF

Clearly, Kaepernick’s protest came during the dead of the National Basketball Association offseason, but given the recent history of protest by National Basketball Association players, Oladipo’s prediction doesn’t appear to be far-fetched.

Colin Kaepernick has gained a lot of support when it comes to his controversial protest of the National Anthem – but he’s also gained a few haters. He said the protest was disrespectful toward the armed forces.

“But they talk about Kaepernick doing something that he believes in, as his right as an American citizen”, Jones said. “I have family, I have friends that have gone and fought for this country”. A total of 2,093 adults responded to the poll, including 1,481 people who identified as white and 612 people who identified as racial minorities. “That’s not happening. People are dying in vain because this country isn’t holding their end of the bargain up”.

The 43-year-old senator said she hopes her actions bring attention to these issues, and said she is not anti-American. So it wouldn’t be surprising if players follow the 49ers quarterback’s lead once the season starts in a few weeks. He said he refuses to stand because of his dissatisfaction with numerous nation’s policies, both major-party presidential candidates and police shootings and treatment of minorities.

Social media immediately focused on the South Park-quarterback-National Anthem battle. The #VeteransforKaepernick went viral after military vets showed support for his cause. “If you want to sit down, I don’t like it”. Until then, nobody stood for the anthem because players stayed in the locker room until it was time to come out on the field and play. Players on other teams, like the Kansas City Chiefs and L.A. Rams, held up fists while standing during the anthem.

Kaepernick did not call for any acts of violence against police officers, nor did he call for people to commit mass riots in the streets.

However, would a new National Football League policy be a violation of the constitution?

While Kaepernick is well within his rights to kneel during the National Anthem, it clearly could impact his future in the NFL.

The song isn’t one of the show’s better musical efforts, but one can imagine Kaepernick might need to wear more than practice pads to deal with the blows to his ego while watching the show.
