Denver ‘D’ turns tables on Luck
Denver’s two game-clinching defensive touchdowns Sunday – Aqib Talib’s 46-yard interception return and Shane Ray’s 15-yard fumble runback – give the Orange & Blue nine defensive/special teams TDs in their 21 regular-season and postseason games since the start of the 2015 season.

The Broncos responded. Siemian, who completed 23 of 33 passes for 266 yards, was at his best when throwing left – until the end of the drive. The team ruled him out for the rest of the game. Luck hit Phillip Dorsett for a 30-yard gain, hit Jack Doyle to get 1st and goal at the Denver 5 where Robert Turbin would punch it in for his touchdown as a Colt, 13 all. “I was thinking probably the same thing that was going through everybody else’s head at the time: It’s a Pick 6 and nobody is going to catch him”. He went in and didn’t return. It looked like the Colts were going to go into the half tied at 10 with the defending Super Bowl champs, but Butler fell down before getting to midfield with a hamstring injury.
“I practice it”, he said.
That’s fine, they would just duplicate last year’s pre-eminence. “You just automatically get up for your game”.
The Colts came into the game without CBs Vontae Davis (ankle) and Patrick Robinson (concussion) as well as S T.J. Green (knee). They will continue to give Henry Anderson more work and Pagano said he may be available for the game Sunday. It means that when we are wrong, something has changed. They’re hurting so bad that Adams stopped midsentence and asked if anyone could name the healthy players the Colts have in the secondary.
We knew the Broncos had a good defense – we just didn’t know when it was going to explode. Still, with just under two minutes left, Luck and the Colts were in position to launch a potential game-winning drive, touching off one overriding thought in Miller’s mind. Talib’s fifth pick-six as a Bronco is good enough for the franchise record. He said his constant attempts to take interceptions to the house in practice has paid off on game days. And then once he gets that ball in his hands. well, he runs the ball like a running back.
Broncos: Denver sustained three big injuries: OLB DeMarcus Ware broke his right forearm, and Kubiak said he didn’t know if Ware will have surgery right away. Miller had three sacks, three more quarterback hits and a forced fumble to close out the game.
Coach Gary Kubiak said further evaluation was needed to determine if surgery would be required. Safety T.J. Ward admitted that he has heard players joke about sometimes growing tired of the dogfights.
“Let me be careful here”. I just had to be aware to be able to pick the ball up and score.
In defeat, Luck ignored his paltry 197 yards passing against Denver and defiantly insisted, “We had our opportunities”. The Colts offense came out trailing for the first time this game, and if we have learned anything watching Andrew Luck the last couple of years, it is that he thrives in these kind of situations and can bring his team back. Melvin left with thigh cramps in the second half and did not return.
-The Colts find themselves trying to rebound from their third consecutive 0-2 start, but judging from their own history, it can be done. “I didn’t throw the ball well, they played good defense so a lot of factors to it”. It’s adapt-or-die mentality. Again, whoever is up and whoever is available, whoever gets back, we will prepare them, they will prepare, they will put the time in and they will go out and play their tails off on Sunday. There’s no magic potion, no secrets or anything. No shame in missing kick of that distance, but McManus nailed five of seven of at least 50 yards last season and is working with a new long snapper and holder. Believe in yourself and believe in the process. I don’t think the stat line is indicative of how well they played.
It was third-and-15, and the Colts had the ball at their 35-yard line.

I am definitely not saying that Siemian is in the upper echelon of quarterbacks in the National Football League, but he has now shown in back-to-back weeks that he has the tools to be a threatening quarterback.
