Pakistan showing continued attachment with terrorism

In his jarring and impudent address to United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) yesterday, Mr Nawaz Sharif repeated the same shrill and clichd statements to belie Pakistan’s diabolical support to terrorism.

India also continues to resort to repressive measures such as curfews, incarceration of Kashmiri leaders and denial of medical treatment to the injured, especially those blinded and poisoned by pellet gunfire, Sharif added.

He said the right to self determination has been “promised” to the people of Kashmir by the global community through a series of Security Council resolutions.

The meeting with the Secretary General comes after the premier addressed the UN General Assembly in New York City.

What my country and our other neighbours are facing today is Pakistan’s long-standing policy of sponsoring terrorism, the consequences of which have spread well beyond our region.

Talking to media after the speech, members of the Pakistani American community also called on the political parties back home to leave political difference aside and support the government in drawing world attention to the Indian brutalities in the Occupied Kashmir.

China stands ready to deepen all-round practical cooperation with Pakistan and is willing to make joint efforts with Islamabad in injecting new impetus into the development of bilateral relations, Li said.

In a reference to JeM chief Masood Azhar and Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, she said terrorist entities and their leaders, including many designated by the United Nations, continue to roam the streets of Pakistan freely and operate with State’s support.

Let us be clear: talks are no favor to Pakistan.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has raised the Kashmir issue with nearly every world leader he has held talks with on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, but his efforts to internationalise the dispute with India appeared to have gained no traction.

Nawaz went on to say that Pakistan and China are iron brothers.

“Pakistan wants peace with India”.

Khan said the Baloch people are “indebted” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi “for speaking out for Balochistan’s right and the right of the Baloch people to be the masters of our own destiny”.

Congress leader also took a dig at Sushma Swaraj for not being present in almost all the initial meetings held to assess the situation and review security chaired either by Prime Minister or other Ministers after the terror attack on the Uri military camp in Kashmir on Sunday, in which 18 soldiers were martyred.
