Actress’ handbag was stolen while collecting Emmy

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride just took the Emmy for Best Television Movie, besting Jay Roach’s LBJ biopic All The Way in one of the night’s big upsets. Amanda had her cell phone and her license in the purse.

The line-up was announced on Thursday (15Sep16), and will include Mark Gatiss, who writes, produces and stars in the show as Sherlock’s brother Mycroft, Andrew Scott who plays villain Moriarty, and Amanda Abbington, who is Martin Freeman’s on and off-screen wife.

“Thanks for the lovely tweets re; the Emmys”.

“So pleased we won”, Abbington said on social media. She took to Twitter late Sunday night to relay the information. After collecting her Emmy for the BBC adaption, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, she took to Twitter to reveal that her purse was apparently “nicked” from right “under her seat”.

I guess it would be fun to imagine Sherlock Holmes taking on this case, but I think the twisted side of him would only search for a missing purse if Moriarty were somehow involved.

But Abbington suggested that there was no great Sherlock-style mystery and that her belongings had simply been stolen at the event.

The star, who plays Mary Watson on the BBC show, took to Twitter following the ceremony to thank fans for their congratulatory messages and to call out the “bastard” who made a decision to swipe her purse. So whoever took my purse, I hope some awful Karmic s– happens to you. She has yet to say anything else, other than the angry outcries September 18 on the night of the show.
