Gambhir’s statement started off by describing Sharif’s speech as a “long tirade” about the situation in Kashmir and called Pakistan a “terrorist state”.

Causing another major embarrassment for Pakistan, the US Secretary of State John Kerry has asked the alleged sponsors of the Uri terror attack to take action against the perpetrators and snubbed its rant for Kashmir, giving India the much needed support for isolating Pakistan internationally.
In its sharpest attack on Pakistan, India on Thursday called it a “terrorist state” which carries out “war crimes” by using terrorism as an “instrument of state policy”, after Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif glorified Hizbul commander Burhan Wani at the United Nations.
Sharif also referred to the deceased Kashmiri leader, Burhan Wani, who was killed by Indian forces earlier this year, leading to anti-India protests across the region. Thousands have been killed there and many more thousands held captive and displaced.
China on Thursday distanced itself from Pakistani media reports which claimed that Premier Li Keqiang had conveyed China’s backing to Pakistan on the Kashmir issue during his meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
India has accused Pakistan of being behind Sunday’s attack on an army base that killed 18 soldiers in the Indian occupied Kashmir and said it had the right to respond.
“Burhan Wani, the young leader murdered by Indian forces has emerged as the symbol of the latest Kashmiri intifada, a popular and peaceful freedom movement led by Kashmiris, young and old men, armed only with an undying faith and the legitimacy of their cause and the hunger for freedom in their hearts”, Sharif said, urging the United Nations to investigate atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces in Kashmir.
She said: “What we see in Pakistan is a terrorist state, which channelizes billions of dollars, much of it diverted from global aid, to training, financing and supporting terrorist groups as militant proxies against it neighbors”. He said it had badly disturbed the Indian government.
Foreign Secretary had also underlined that this terrorist attack was the most recent in a series launched from across the border that has steadily escalated in recent weeks.

Akbar, addressing a press conference moments after Nawaz’s speech at India’s permanent mission, remarked it was very unusual that Pakistan had termed the “terrorist” a “hero”.
