Presidential candidates react to police shootings

Boxing promoter Don King let the n-word slip while introducing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump today at a campaign event in Ohio.

All that and a “s*** ton of celebrities” made a pretty amusing election advertisement. “We did it in NY, it worked incredibly well and you have to be proactive and, you know, you really help people sort of change their mind automatically, you understand”. And the stakes are especially high since one of the shootings occurred in North Carolina, a critical swing state with a sizable African-American population that both campaigns are working hard to reach.

The comments came hours after the NY billionaire falsely suggested that Chicago is more violent than Afghanistan, and endorsed a stop-and-frisk policing method. “I don’t know what she was thinking but I’m very, very troubled by that”, Trump said, calling it a “terrible situation”. “We did it in NY, it worked incredibly well and you have to be proactive and, you know, you really help people sort of change their mind automatically”. They endorsed Clinton during her primary contests against Vermont Sen.

Over the last several weeks, Trump has been trying to gather support from black voters.

Trump has no problem settling his legal disputes with someone else’s money, it seems. In his effort to boost Trump’s popularity with African-Americans – which hovers between 0-1% – King offered his musings about why a Trump presidency would be good for African-Americans. During the speech, Trump, 70, grinned while sitting just a few feet away. Reports have said money from the Donald J. Trump Foundation has been used for those purposes. “It’s called OPM. I do it all the time in business”.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is sharply criticizing Donald Trump’s call for national use of “stop-and-frisk”, a police tactic that a federal judge has ruled can be discriminatory against minorities.

Jackson has said repeatedly that he’d like to make an NBA comeback next season, but his most recent CNN appearance, along with his regular guest spots on Rachel Nichols’ The Jump, have proven that he’s more than ready for prime-time if his basketball career doesn’t pan out.

Clinton’s speech Wednesday in Orlando, Florida, focused on helping people with disabilities thrive in the USA economy.

Trump Jr. said Wednesday in Salt Lake City that his tweet was spurred by his concern as a father about inadequate vetting of people coming into the United States.

Sometimes, talking policy doesn’t go very well when a teammate is unfamiliar with the playbook.

Clinton did not directly mention Republican opponent Donald Trump, though she did repeat her campaign mantra that “love trumps hate”.

Trump was asked why, after years as the chief proponent of the falsehood that the president was born outside the country, he made a decision to announce Friday that was no longer the case. “These are basic questions”.

He added: “This young officer, I don’t know what she was thinking. but I am very troubled by that”. Worse than the system of segregation and racial discrimination – when we couldn’t take a seat at the lunch counter and be served? Worse than being denied the right to register to vote, to participate in a democratic process?

Candidates have vastly different proposals
