Mr Rahami has been charged in relation to the NY explosion and another device that exploded harmlessly hours earlier near a race in Seaside Park, New Jersey. As law enforcement cordoned off the area, investigators found a pressure cooker with wires coming out of it four blocks away.
Evidence against Rahami includes bombs found at an Elizabeth train station, fingerprints found on an undetonated bomb found at 27th Street in Manhattan, and Surveillance video taken from near the Chelsea bombings.
The FBI released an image of the two men that it said was captured on closed circuit television recordings between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on West 27th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

A neighbour said Rahami had recently started dressing in more traditional clothes such as long tunics and sandals, which she said was how his father dressed.
