Texas poll: Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton by 7

In an ever-tightening, increasingly negative presidential campaign, a new national poll by Quinnipiac University shows Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump are virtually tied when third-party candidates are included in the race. Among registered voters, the Democratic nominee was five points ahead, at 46 to 41 percent.

With eight weeks to go before the election, Trump now leads Clinton by 6 points nationally, according to the USC/Los Angeles Times “Daybreak” poll, the only daily national tracking poll.

Clinton has been recuperating at her home in Chappaqua, New York, according to her campaign.

Clinton’s missteps have cost her precious support not just in the national polls, but in the state of OH, a decider in the presidential race.

“She is recovering well with antibiotics and rest”, wrote Bardack, who also authored the letter about Clinton’s health released in July 2015.

While Clinton has released more information than Trump – both about her health and financial history – her campaign’s handling of her pneumonia underscored her penchant for privacy, something that has contributed to the public’s lack of trust in the former secretary of state.

Trump nearly certainly needs to carry the state in order to win the White House, while Clinton’s team is eager to block his path.

Until Thursday, the only information on Mr Trump’s health had come in a widely ridiculed letter from his doctor declaring he would be the healthiest person to ever serve as president.

Trump’s running mate Mike Pence said he plans to release records from a recent physical examination Thursday.

The incident prompted fresh questions about both candidates’ openness regarding their health.

“Well, I just don’t know”, he said when asked if she had the stamina to campaign through election day in November.

The recent surveys come as Clinton grapples with new controversies on two fronts: Her comment at a Friday fundraiser that half of Trump’s backers are in a “basket of deplorables”, and her campaign’s handling of a health scare on Sunday during a 15th anniversary ceremony honoring victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The Democratic presidential candidate faces increased scrutiny about her health after a video showed her staggering while getting into a van on Sunday.

Less than half, just 44%, said Clinton’s health will negatively impact her ability to serve as president if she is elected and that number is highly polarized.

“But after she had an exam on Friday morning, they had an affirmative obligation to tell us about the diagnosis of pneumonia”.

Hillary Clinton used her recent bout of pneumonia as the vehicle to return to the campaign trail with an inspiring, clear, and deliberate Trump killing message in North Carolina. “I have to be very boring for you, right?” he quipped.

“I have a great deal of respect for Colin Powell and I have a lot of sympathy for anyone whose emails become public”, said Clinton.

He also appeared on a U.S. medical chat show, which aired on Thursday, to discuss his health.
