Nissan is Recalling Over 120-Thousand Cars and SUV’s
Nissan is recalling about 134,000 late-model cars, mainly in the United States and Canada, because a fluid leak in the braking system could lead to a fire, the company and USA regulators said on Friday. Owners who see that warning should park outside and away from structures and not drive their vehicles until they are repaired. This includes Maxima sedans, 2015-2017 Murano crossovers, and 2015-2016 Murano Hybrids due to the potential that these units may start a fire.

According to the manufacturer, the anti-lock brakes may leak brake fluid onto a circuit board, which could then ignite. A spokesperson for Nissan said the leak can cause an electrical short, which could lead to a fire. If fluid leaks, the ABS warning light could stay on for 10 seconds after startup.
Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
Nissan said no one has been injured, although there have been some incidents reported of “thermal damage”.
Nissan said several vehicles have already caught fire and dealers will replace defective pumps for free. It made a decision to recall the cars on August 24, according to documents.
If that happens, the driver should call Nissan roadside assistance for help, Yaeger said. It also says a letter will be sent to owners to notify them once parts are available.
The company said the problem has been corrected in vehicles since it was discovered.
Automotive News wrote that about 120,000 of the recalled vehicles are registered in the United States and about 11,000 are in Canada.
