Surgery over, rehab begins for Vikings RB Peterson

In 31 carries he managed a paltry 50 yards.

The Vikings announced Thursday that Peterson underwent surgery to fix torn lateral meniscus in his right knee. If they do go this route, I don’t see one made for an every down, starting running back.but again, Rick Spielman has surprised us before, and anything is possible. He has often said he believes he can play until his mid-30s, and his decision to have his meniscus fully repaired suggests he is planning to return in 2017. “It could be season ending”.

In the span of a little more than three weeks, the Vikings have lost three key cogs in their offense. The Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office in OH has confirmed that Gordon has not address several subpoenas and that a judge issued the warrant last month.

This is not to say Peterson is no longer effective, but clearly, after his ninth game past year, there’s been something of a downturn in his performance. Given his age, injury history, and big contract, it’s unlikely Peterson will return to the same role, whether it’s this year or next.

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval says he intends to call state lawmakers into a special session early next month to consider a public financing plan for an National Football League stadium. He’s also skipped hearings. “We can mix them however we want, but Jerick with his explosiveness and his ability to come out of the backfield when appropriate we will try to take advantage of that”. The Vikings said the rehabilitation process will begin immediately.

A former Pro Bowler, Gordon has been suspended for 29 of Cleveland’s past 34 games.

In the Broncos’ 23-20 victory over the Vikings last season, Hillman ran for 103 yards on 11 carries, doing most of his damage with a 72-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.

The Vikings shouldn’t need to get into many shootouts to win games this season, and they don’t have to look back far for inspiration. “I think Asiata does a good job, he’s a good, physical run after contact guy and he does a good job of holding onto the ball”.

Even with Peterson out, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said his team won’t plan for Sunday’s game differently.

However, the additional damage to Peterson’s knee, will likely change that recovery timetable.

“I was going to get an opportunity somewhere”, Hillman said. He found returning receiver and favorite target Jordy Nelson, who was sideline all previous year with a torn ACL, for the second straight week for a touchdown. “It’s a team game”.

Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West have been filling in for him.

“I have no idea … we’ll find out during surgery”, Zimmer said.

“I haven’t been here long, but I think we’ve got a great group of running backs, ” quarterback Sam Bradford said. “So the opportunity is here, and I just have to step in and do my job”.

The Chiefs play the New York Jets on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
