Dubai’s English-language news The National said authorities warned of carrying the Galaxy Note 7 inside luggage placed in the cargo hold.

The company last week told Galaxy Note 7 users to return their devices after faulty batteries caused the smartphone to catch fire. “Some of us requested a commercial gesture for the inconvenience, which will be looked at”.
“Some said initially the Galaxy Note 7 could be the best smartphone ever, but now it’s possible the phone will go down as the worst ever”, IBK Securities analyst Lee Seung-woo said, predicting weak sales in the fourth quarter. Some operators and retailers will also offer customers a phone on loan until a replacement Note 7 is available.
“We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note7s and exchange them now”, said Tim Baxter, president of Samsung Electronics America.
Several airlines around the world asked travellers not switch on the smartphone or put it in checked baggage, with some carriers banning the phone on flights.
The sharp fall on the Korean stock market comes after USA aviation authorities warned travellers not to turn on or charge the Note 7 during flights or store them in checked bags.
The body said that it is working with Samsung to determine whether a recall of the device and exchange are enough of a solution to the matter.
India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that travellers in the country should stop using the Note7 in flights. The Korean tech company said that the latest statement was issued according to equal global standards based on its number one priority on the safety of its customers regardless of the CPSC advice.
He advised consumers to use replacement phones which would be loaned by the firm until a new Note 7 equipped with fault-free batteries are provided.
