Punjab RSS vice-president Jagdish Gagneja passes away in Ludhiana

Jagdish Gagneja, a state level leader of Hindutva outfit Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), reportedly died at DMC hospital on Thursday (Sept. 22). “Punjab has lost a forceful voice which articulated the concerns of the State and its people while remaining selflessly away from pubic glare and shunning personal glory”, he said.

Brig Gagneja was shot at in front of the local Red Cross market near busy Jyoti chowk market on the evening of August 6 when he was moving towards his auto after doing shopping with his wife.

“But the designs of those who committed this heinous crime will never be allowed to succeed”, he said. The latest example is the NY blasts case in the US.

Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal also condoled the death of Gagneja.

The 65-year-old Gagneja, who was the Punjab RSS vice-president, was shot at by two masked motorcyclists in Jalandhar on August 6. Gagneja and his wife were followed by the attackers from their residence at Deep Nagar in Jalandhar Cantonment.

“Gagneja, who retired from Army in 2006 had fully devoted him to the service of the nation through RSS”. The central agency sleuths have been in the city for a week but they too have not been able to find a clue.

As per the information shared by Dr. GS Wander (Director of Hero Heart Institute), Gagneja’s health was worsening day by day from the past one week. He demanded that help be taken from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as well.
