Hillary Clinton congratulates Kate McKinnon on Emmy win

Headlines like “Why Fans Adore Kate McKinnon As Holtzmann in “Ghostbusters” and “We Love You, Kate McKinnon”. Putting that into perspective, Saturday Night Live has been nominated 287 times in various Emmy categories over the years and helped launch the career of several Emmy-winning actors but McKinnon is the only comedian to be awarded an Emmy for her work as a cast member on the show.

WHAT! Kate McKinnon took home the gold for SNL at the 2016 Emmys Sept. 18, and it was her speech that stole the show!

The post Hillary Clinton congratulated this ONE Emmy victor and it was all around epic appeared first on HelloGiggles. Incidentally, both Clinton and DeGeneres tweeted reactions to McKinnon’s shoutout.

“On a personal note, thank you to my mother and sister and father”, McKinnon said of her late father. In case you were wondering, Kate said, “Jesus Christ”, when she was cut out by the program.

“Thank you to the Academy so much”. Just remember for a minute that the Presidential election is (somehow) still going on, and odds are Lorne Michaels and the writers are going to want to make as big of a meal of this as humanly possible.
